Eurovision Sport Leverages Haivision Hub for Custom Remote Production of the European Aquatics Championships

The European Broadcasting Union (through its Eurovision Sport operation) needed to securely deliver multiple real-time video feeds to broadcasters across Europe to support remote production of the 2021 European Aquatics Championships. To meet this challenge they selected Haivision and its Haivision Hub video network service to transport live IP video from the event to production resources across the continent.

Haivision implemented a cloud-based workflow using Haivision Hub, the SRT protocol, and Makito X encoders integrated with the Eurovision Network to route multiple isolated feeds plus the main production feed to national broadcasters. The solution enabled EBU members to produce customized coverage remotely from their headquarters—creating more interviews and tailored programming for local audiences, avoiding travel to the venue, and delivering secure, low-latency live video at scale.
