How the United States Marine Corps Power its Landing Force Operation Centers with Haivision

The United States Marine Corps needed to upgrade the Landing Force Operations Center aboard the USS Boxer before deployment. The Marines were using standalone monitors connected to laptops and wanted a more effective way to improve situational awareness during on-the-go operations, but the cramped shipboard environment imposed strict size and weight limits.

Haivision deployed its Scalable Mobile Display aboard the USS Boxer for the 15th MEU, using hardened transport cases and a modular mounting frame that fit the limited space in the LFOC. Haivision’s team helped with setup, and the system was mission-ready before the ship went underway. The deployment improved communication and information sharing between Marines aboard the vessel and units on active missions, and it led the Marines to consider additional SMDs for other amphibious assault ship-class naval vessels.
