Case Study: IBM Belgium achieves 2,500 participants and 69 Bluemix apps with HackerEarth

A HackerEarth Case Study

Preview of the IBM Belgium Case Study

Using innovation to develop apps on the Bluemix platform

IBM Belgium wanted to accelerate innovation on its IBM Bluemix platform and encourage developers to build web and mobile apps that leveraged Watson. To meet this challenge, IBM Belgium partnered with HackerEarth to run a Bluemix hackathon, using HackerEarth’s event platform and services to recruit participants, manage submissions, and promote the campaign.

HackerEarth delivered the hackathon infrastructure and outreach, resulting in 5,516 registrations, over 2,500 participants, and 69 applications built on Bluemix using free credits. The event produced practical, Watson-powered winners — including Allay (sentiment-aware chat), social-network auctions with Watson TTS and analytics, and digital hoardings for targeted advertising — demonstrating HackerEarth’s measurable impact on developer engagement and real app development for IBM Belgium.
