Case Study: HCL achieves accelerated digital transformation and sources Mode‑2 innovations with HackerEarth

A HackerEarth Case Study

Preview of the HCL Case Study

How this IT services company deployed its digital transition strategy

HCL, a global IT services firm seeking to demonstrate capability in next‑gen "Mode‑2" technologies (AI, AR/VR, blockchain, automation), needed a sophisticated platform and broad developer access to crowdsource solutions and position itself with clients. To run a large‑scale open‑innovation hackathon and support customer problem‑solving, HCL partnered with HackerEarth and deployed the HackerEarth Sprint innovation management platform.

Using HackerEarth Sprint and its 1.5 million+ developer community, HCL ran a three‑phase global campaign (idea, prototype, onsite finale at Old Trafford) with HackerEarth managing launch, submissions, shortlisting, judging and evaluation via Sprint’s dashboard. The campaign drew 13,500+ developers and 2,770+ teams, produced high‑quality Mode‑2 prototypes (e.g., Barclays Eye, Arbitrium, Code Cube), connected HCL and its customers to developer teams, and generated recruitment and business‑development leads—delivering measurable scale and ongoing opportunity through HackerEarth.
