How HackerEarth reduced their technical hiring cycle time from 2 months to 1 day

InMobi, a global leader in Mobile Advertising Solutions, needed to quickly hire exceptional developers with 0–3 years of experience for its Bangalore engineering team. Their existing process was time-consuming—15–20 days per candidate and over two months to fill roles—so they engaged HackerEarth to run an online talent assessment/hiring challenge to accelerate sourcing and technical screening.

HackerEarth ran a 4‑hour open coding challenge (four programming questions) promoted to its community; in two weeks 2,000 people registered and 791 participated from 380 colleges across four countries. InMobi issued direct offers to the top two contestants, called the next ten for on-site interviews, and hired five more—cutting the technical hiring cycle from two months to a single day, lowering costs, reducing engineering time spent on shortlisting, and enabling outreach to 2,000 developers. HackerEarth’s platform (code evaluation, plagiarism detection, and real‑time intelligent reports) powered the screening and ranking.
