Crowdsourcing ideas for the top online travel aggregator

Goibibo, a leading online travel aggregator, wanted to engage the developer community, showcase its APIs, crowdsource ideas to improve user experience, and position itself as a technology company. To achieve this, Goibibo partnered with HackerEarth and used HackerEarth’s hackathon platform and managed Sprint service to run a two-phase developer challenge (an idea submission phase followed by a 48-hour offline hackathon).

HackerEarth ran the event, drawing 4,548 registrations and 1,674 teams; the offline hackathon produced 62 apps and prototypes and involved over 4,500 developers overall. By providing the platform, managed services, and access to a large developer community, HackerEarth helped Goibibo source high-quality apps and ideas, raise its profile among developers, and demonstrate its APIs in real-world projects.
