Case Study: Centro Fox develops smart-city solutions in 48 hours with HackerEarth

A HackerEarth Case Study

Preview of the Centro Fox Case Study

Creating Technology solutions for social problems in just 48 hours

Centro Fox, the Mexican organization founded by Vicente Fox, ran the Talent Hackathon to engage young, digitally connected citizens in creating technology solutions for social problems and smart-city challenges (SMEs, sustainability, mobility, tourism) in just 48 hours. To manage submissions, participants and judging, Centro Fox used HackerEarth and its Innovation Management software to run the competition and coordinate nationwide participation.

HackerEarth’s platform streamlined registration, submission and evaluation—judges reported it was simple to use and participants from non‑IT backgrounds found it effective—enabling rapid crowdsourcing of ideas. The event became one of Mexico’s largest hackathons, yielding over 65 smart‑city solutions (winning projects included BENTOXX, TurriBot and Bioplant) and demonstrating clear, measurable impact in mobilizing talent and generating deployable innovations.
