A Haas Automation Case Study
Flying S Inc, an aerospace fabricator located in rural Illinois, faced the challenge of producing intricate, high-precision parts and molds with absolutely no room for error. To meet the stringent demands of the aerospace industry, they required a diverse array of reliable, high-quality CNC equipment capable of handling a wide variety of materials and part sizes.
The solution was implemented by Haas Automation, from whom Flying S acquired more than 20 machines. Their extensive Haas fleet includes 6 UMCs for 5-axis work, GR series gantry routers for large parts, VMCs with automatic pallet changers, and an ST-30SSY lathe with a bar feeder for mill/turning. This versatile equipment from Haas allows them to expertly machine aluminum flight hardware and composite tooling, enabling the company to thrive in fabricating composite UAV airframe structures with an unwavering commitment to quality.
