Shipment Volume Forecasts Powered by AI at Senko Group

Senko Group, a large integrated logistics provider serving apparel and e‑commerce in the Tokyo area, struggled with inconsistent shipment volume forecasts, growing staff workloads, and difficulty securing warehouse workers amid Japan’s labor shortage. To improve manpower planning and reduce the forecasting burden, Senko Group turned to H2O.ai and its Driverless AI product.

Using H2O.ai’s Driverless AI (with IBM SPSS for data processing), Senko Group automated multivariate time-series forecasting and feature engineering, boosting forecast accuracy from about 60% to 87%, maintaining reliable accuracy over one-month horizons, and cutting logistics staff time spent on forecasts by an estimated 5% — enabling more dependable advance staffing and improved operational efficiency.
