A Guusto Case Study

Lack of structured recognition program, lack of alignment and opportunity for peer-to-peer recognition

Breakthru Beverage Group, a North American alcoholic beverage wholesaler with more than 7,000 employees, wanted to improve employee recognition after annual survey results showed the need for a stronger, more consistent program across teams and locations. Before working with Guusto, recognition was handled in-house with limited alignment, and employees had no way to recognize peers.

Working with Guusto, Breakthru Beverage Group launched a recognition program that combined manager spot awards with peer-to-peer Shoutouts, plus quarterly leaderboard rewards for top senders and recipients. The result was stronger adoption and engagement: manager budget usage reached 50% in the first four months, peer-to-peer participation climbed from 8% in May to 44% within weeks after a recognition day campaign, and employee satisfaction with recognition increased by 13.9%.
