Large Transportation B2B Company, a passenger transportation operator in Colombia responsible for 2500 employees and 70 buses, faced slow, manual and inaccurate boarding counts that caused payment errors and unnecessary costs. The company turned to Gurtam’s partner GPS Control to develop an automated passenger-flow solution using Gurtam’s telematics platform Wialon.

GPS Control implemented a Wialon-based system with RFID tags for each employee, RFID readers on buses connected to GPS trackers, and a custom script to upload employee IDs into Wialon; the Passengers module processes boarding data and the Jobs module automates weekly reports. The Gurtam solution made boarding faster and more accurate, ensured the company pays only for passengers who actually boarded, and provided actionable reports to add, cancel, or reroute services.
