Monitoring of irrigation machines in Russia

Zemlya Kubani LLC, a full‑cycle agricultural enterprise in Krasnodar Krai, faced fragmented, costly and time‑consuming irrigation management: different equipment vendors offered incompatible monitoring, machines were remote (up to 800 m radius), agronomists lacked data on actual water applied, and breakdowns or missed/duplicated watering were hard to detect. To standardize and digitize operations they adopted Gurtam’s Wialon platform—using Wialon Hosting and Wialon Local—and a Wialon‑based application (InSmartRain) to address precision irrigation needs.

Using Gurtam’s solution (implemented with field devices from Galileosky and Owen), telematics from each machine were sent to Wialon and processed by the InSmartRain app for remote control, irrigation rate calculations (mm per area), and performance monitoring on both server and cloud deployments. The result was full control over irrigation parameters, measurable cost savings and faster equipment payback (up to 50% faster), reduced labor for starting/stopping machines, precise irrigation reporting, and improved crop quality.
