Monitoring of apparel factory workers in Sri Lanka

Largest Apparel Manufacturer Company, one of Sri Lanka’s biggest apparel producers with 14 factories across Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India (300–3,000 workers per site), needed to optimize production and transport planning and monitor employees who travel on dedicated shuttle buses. They turned to KLOUDIP, a partner of Gurtam, for a Wialon-based solution using Wialon Local, WiaTag, NimBus and NFC tags to capture boarding/off locations and passenger counts.

KLOUDIP deployed a pilot at a 300-worker plant: employees scan NFC tags on boarding, WiaTag-equipped devices send timestamps and locations to Wialon, and NimBus aggregates passenger counts and optimizes routes. Using Gurtam’s platform, planners receive passenger reports an hour before shifts, eliminating downtime through timely reallocation, improving route efficiency (saving driver time and fuel), tightening attendance/discipline via Wialon reports, and reducing transport costs by identifying where hostel placement is more economical.
