Puma Energy, an international oil-and-gas cargo shipping company, faced a sharp rise in traffic accidents involving its tank trucks and could not analyze causes using their limited monitoring software — incidents that caused vehicle and cargo losses (about $150K per accident) and even fatal explosions. To address this safety crisis Puma Energy turned to Gurtam and its partner JW Services for a more capable telematics approach.

JW Services, a partner of Gurtam, implemented an integrated solution using Wialon and Eco Driving plus GPS devices with CAN-bus data, RFID driver identification, and the Wialon API/SDK to tie everything together. The Gurtam-powered deployment improved driver behavior, substantially reduced the number of accidents, lowered the financial losses tied to ~$150K-per-accident incidents, and ensured cargo deliveries arrived safe and sound.
