Case Study: Bookmark coordinates volunteers and boosts child literacy support with Guild

A Guild Case Study

Bookmark child literacy charity coordinates its volunteers with a Guild community

Bookmark, a UK child literacy charity launched in 2018, needed a safer, more scalable way to coordinate its growing volunteer network while avoiding GDPR concerns and the “another app” fatigue that can come with volunteer management tools. The charity also wanted a single place to answer common questions and help volunteers support each other more effectively, using a community platform that was easy to adopt and fit alongside its existing resource library.

Bookmark implemented Guild to run its volunteer community, using the platform’s searchable discussions and web access to keep more than 350 volunteers connected, informed, and engaged. With Guild, Bookmark centralized support, reduced repetitive emails and calls, and made it easier to scale its volunteer programme so it can continue delivering one-to-one reading support for children aged 5–8 and help ensure no child is left behind in literacy.
