A Leader Like Me uses Guild to create a safe and trusted peer community

A Leader Like Me, a global initiative launched in 2020 to support and empower women of colour to become business leaders, board members and CEOs, wanted to create a formal mentoring programme backed by a trusted community space. The founders needed a professional platform that could support open discussion, peer connection and coaching while avoiding the privacy and data concerns they had with tools like WhatsApp and the less professional feel of Facebook Groups.

Guild provided the private community platform used alongside the 12-week development programme, giving members a safe, sacred space to share openly, receive support and build confidence. With Guild, participants were able to discuss personal and professional challenges, strengthen peer relationships and even improve real workplace situations; in one example, a member used advice from the community to change her relationship with a colleague for the better.
