A Guardsquare Case Study

Preview of the Leading 50 largest U.S. bank Case Study

One of the 50 largest U.S. banks trusts DexGuard to protect the company’s intellectual property

A leading 50 largest U.S. bank turned to Guardsquare to help secure its mobile banking apps as its development team worked to protect intellectual property and reduce risks from attackers. The bank’s main concerns were Android app tampering, reverse engineering, repackaging, and the possibility of malicious code being inserted into its application.

Using Guardsquare’s DexGuard, the bank added advanced code hardening and runtime application self-protection to its Android app while reusing its existing ProGuard configuration. The result was stronger protection against reverse engineering and unauthorized repackaging, successful resistance to attempted binary inspection, and support for mobile payment compliance requirements, with the bank reporting that it no longer sees repackaging attacks and that Guardsquare “just works.”
