Simplifed Remote Management and Reduced Total Cost of Outsourced Infrastructure delivered

Albany International Corp., a long-established textile and materials processing company, was facing higher storage ownership costs and limited room to scale its IT development and quality systems. GSS Infotech proposed a storage modernization approach using NetApp technology, including NetApp FAS systems and integration with the company’s existing VMware environment.

GSS Infotech migrated 20 terabytes of virtual machines from EMC-based Fibre Channel storage to a new NetApp FAS3140 system running NFS, and connected it with Albany’s existing VMware setup. The solution also used NetApp tools such as SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapManager, Snapshot, and de-duplication to improve operations, resulting in lower costs, enhanced scalability, simpler remote management, and increased reliability.
