Southeast Asian Refinery Chooses EnVision for Operations Training

Petron, a Philippine refinery company, was preparing to launch a new coker as part of a $1.8 billion expansion at its Bataan Refinery and needed better engineer and operator training. At the Coking.com conference, Petron evaluated simulation and tutorial tools from GSE Solutions, including its Delayed Coker Unit simulation and Hydrogen Unit Simulation with H2-PSA.

GSE Solutions provided the two simulations along with related tutorials, and trained 12 Petron engineers, shift supervisors, and managers in March so they could operate and administer the DCU and H2-PSA tools. Petron then began training operations staff at the Bataan site using a blend of self-learning and instructor-led instruction, improving readiness for the new unit launch.
