Midwest Utility Four Full-scope Coal-fired Power Station Simulators

US Midwest Utility Company needed a long-term operator training solution to support new and existing staff at three coal-fired power stations. GSE Solutions was selected to provide four full-scope power plant simulators using its JADE high-fidelity, high-definition plant models.

GSE Solutions, as prime contractor and project manager, procured the virtual DCS systems and integrated them with dynamic real-time process models to deliver the simulators to the utility’s plants. The solution was expected to improve training efficiency, support ongoing employee education, reduce operator risk, and increase plant uptime and efficiency, with all four simulators scheduled for delivery by December 2015.
