Steinhoff UK Retail — which includes Bensons for Beds, Harvey’s and Cargo — needed to unify operations after mergers, improve staff engagement and morale, cut training costs, and provide consistent development across its 500 stores. In 2011 Growth Engineering built Bensons Academy and in 2014 the platform was expanded and rebranded as Steinhoff Learning Store to bring all three brands onto a single, business-wide learning platform.

The solution was a 100% online LMS with bespoke, gamified eLearning, social features, leaderboards and an interactive “High Street” interface (branded with an African animal theme). Results include a further 15% reduction in combined turnover in nine months, onboarding time cut from nine to six months (33% faster), 2,261 learners logging 16,444 times over three months, engagement reaching 85%, and product-rollout conversions jumping from ~15–20% to 45% — a performance gain that could add up to a seven-figure revenue increase.
