Tech Data’s Azlan division partnered with HP in 2013 to meet aggressive growth targets but faced a major challenge: quickly upskill a dispersed network of European partners to increase partner breadth, boost sales of HP and Alliance Vendor solutions, and drive solution selling to outgrow the market. Traditional classroom training was impractical and costly for such scale and speed.
They launched TD Academy with Growth Engineering — a fully branded, 100% online LMS delivering bite-sized, gamified and social learning (including ISMM‑accredited modules and bespoke eLearning), plus incentive-driven campaigns. The results were strong: proactive users out‑performed the market by 75% year‑on‑year, 113 new partners generated €38.29M in one quarter, voucher campaigns produced exceptional ROIs (overall 9,478:1; HP OneView example 5,794:1), ISMM course time was halved (saving ~£880 per certificate), and partners showed measurable improvements in product knowledge and solution‑selling.
