LAUSD Education Foundation delivers $413,739 in relief grants with Groundswell

The LAUSD Education Foundation needed to provide rapid financial relief to school district staff affected by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. The challenge was to create a fast, compliant, and scalable assistance program without overburdening its internal HR and finance teams. To meet this need, the foundation partnered with Groundswell to implement a crisis relief solution.

Groundswell designed and administered a turnkey Employee Relief Fund, handling everything from a custom application portal to grant disbursement. The solution included two grant types for immediate and sustained support. As a result of the partnership with Groundswell, the program awarded $413,739 in relief grants, providing crucial financial support to 263 LAUSD staff members through 290 total grants.
