Leading European Airline Company worked with Ground Labs to tackle a major PCI compliance challenge after discovering cardholder data stored across many systems, including O365, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint Online, Azure, Hadoop, and AWS Glacier. Following a serious 2020 cyberattack that exposed personal and cardholder data from around 9 million customers, the airline needed a way to quickly find and secure sensitive payment data across its environment.

Ground Labs implemented its Enterprise Recon PII solution to scan structured and unstructured data sources, identify where credit card numbers were stored, and support remediation across multiple teams. Within the first quarter, Ground Labs’ Enterprise Recon found more than 60 million credit card numbers in the airline’s ecosystem, helping the company move toward PCI compliance and better protect customer data on an ongoing basis.
