Perot Museum of Nature and Science launches a 1-mile Bird Flight Game with Groove Jones

Groove Jones partnered with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science to create an interactive and educational bird flight simulator for its Rose Hall of Birds exhibit. The challenge was to develop a hands-free, gamified experience that would allow museum guests to pilot a bird through a virtual Texas landscape.

The solution implemented by Groove Jones used an Azure Kinect camera and a sophisticated markerless motion tracking system to enable guests to control a realistically animated Red-Tailed Hawk with their body movements. The resulting "Tournament of Flight" game was a success, earning a Silver Horizon Interactive Award and providing a captivating experience that solidified the museum's mission of education through engagement.
