Case Study: SOWA achieves wireless, no-delay event audio with GRINN

A GRINN Case Study

Preview of the SOWA Case Study

SOWA builds wireless speakers with 15 ms delay using GRINN

The customer, SOWA, a Denmark-based developer of professional speakers, required a wireless communication protocol for its products that could transmit audio in real-time over long distances without an audible delay. Existing solutions like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi were insufficient for their needs. They engaged the vendor, GRINN, to develop this critical technology for their speaker system.

GRINN developed a unique proprietary 2.4 GHz protocol and antenna system from scratch to solve the challenge. This solution allowed for an unlimited number of speakers to be connected with a maximum delay of just 15ms, a range of up to 200 meters outdoors, and a battery life exceeding 25 hours. GRINN delivered a functional prototype within six months and the final product within a year, handling everything from embedded software to production preparation for SOWA.
