Sani nudge, a Danish company specializing in hand hygiene monitoring solutions for hospitals, faced the challenge of creating an automated system to track hand sanitizer usage without disrupting healthcare workflows. They partnered with vendor GRINN to develop the electronics and embedded software for their monitoring device.

GRINN developed a wireless sensor system that affixes to existing sanitizer dispensers. The solution features a two-year battery life, uses LoRaWan for communication, and ensures data anonymity. This system allows hospitals to automatically track hand hygiene compliance. As a result of GRINN's work, Sani nudge's solution has been adopted by over 25 hospitals across 15 countries since 2019, improving patient and staff safety by reducing healthcare-associated infections.
