PKU Law School used Gridsum’s Media Dissector to analyze public perceptions of the PRC Supreme People’s Court ahead of the court’s 2015 annual report. The school needed a way to identify trends in news reporting and understand how major court regulations, policies, and rulings were being covered.

Gridsum’s Media Dissector applied text-mining techniques to more than 30,000 mainstream news reports from 2014 and mapped the spread of major events. The solution identified the ten topics of greatest interest, and eight of them aligned with topics highlighted by the Supreme People’s Court, showing strong insight into public and media attention.
