National Movie Theater Chain Achieves over 19% Energy Savings

A Movie Theater Chain, operating hundreds of locations across the U.S., needed a better way to manage energy use across large, multi-screen buildings while maintaining comfortable temperatures and humidity levels. GridPoint helped address challenges with inconsistent HVAC control, humidity problems, and scattered vendor systems using its Energy Management as a Service (EMaaS) platform, HVAC & Humidity Control, HVAC Health, and other integrated energy management tools.

GridPoint installed HVAC controls and humidity sensors, standardized schedules and setpoints, integrated HVAC operation with showtime data, and enabled automated demand response across participating sites. The result was cash-flow-positive deployment with no upfront capital costs, improved facility visibility, and average savings of 17.76% on electricity and 24.1% on gas, with the case study also highlighting over 19% year-over-year energy savings overall.
