Global SaaS TMS Provider MercuryGate Chooses GridGain to Improve Business for Clients by Reducing System Wait Times

MercuryGate International, a global SaaS provider of transportation management systems that handles over seven million files a week across a distributed Java/VMware environment, faced slow database responsiveness and JVM memory limits that caused first-daily rate lookups to take 45–60 seconds. To meet customer performance expectations, enable UPS certification, and add horizontal scalability, the company needed a more robust caching and compute solution.

After evaluating Hazelcast, Tibco, Oracle and GridGain, MercuryGate deployed the GridGain In‑Memory Data Fabric with the GridGain Visor dashboard. The grid-based cache-plus-compute architecture reduced first-request times to well below 10 seconds, made it easy to scale horizontally, improved customer satisfaction and stickiness, and enabled a new premium low-latency service that generated immediate additional revenue.
