MAT Foundry Eurac, a specialist manufacturer of brake discs for the automotive industry, aimed to boost its bottom line, optimise operations, and improve sustainability. To address this challenge, they partnered with GridBeyond to connect their intensive foundry equipment to its intelligent energy platform.

The solution implemented by GridBeyond connected Eurac's assets to its Hybrid Battery & Demand Network and included the installation of a 1.6MW battery. This allowed the company's less flexible equipment to participate in dynamic grid balancing services, unlocking new revenue streams and optimising energy use. The results for MAT Foundry Eurac were significant, including approximately £192,000 in demand response revenues, £50,000 in savings from dynamic price optimisation, a reduced carbon footprint, and enhanced site resilience, all achieved with zero capital expenditure.
