World’s Leading Video Game Publishers partnered with Grid Dynamics to address the challenge of personalizing in-game promotions and offers at scale. Seeking better long-term engagement and monetization than traditional recommendation methods, the publisher engaged Grid Dynamics to build a reinforcement learning–based personalization platform that could support customizable business objectives and rapid onboarding of new use cases.

Grid Dynamics implemented a multipurpose reinforcement learning platform that ingests in-game events, computes rewards against chosen business objectives, continuously updates personalization policies, and serves decisions in production. The pilot was delivered in about eight weeks and production trials showed up to a 25% dollar-per-user improvement versus baseline, while enabling strategic (multi-step) optimization, online adaptation, and lower engineering overhead.
