Case Study: Sodimac achieves safer, faster pallet movement with GreyOrange AMRs

A GreyOrange Case Study

Preview of the Sodimac Case Study

Sodimac Deploys the World’s Largest Pallet-Moving AMR Installation

Sodimac, a large home improvement retailer, faced significant challenges in its massive fulfillment center where 54 manual forklifts were used to move 4,000 pallets daily. This created a high-risk environment for accidents, made hiring and retaining workers difficult, and led to inconsistent operations that resulted in missed service level agreements. They needed a solution that could integrate with their existing systems to ensure a continuous flow of goods for their growing ecommerce demand.

GreyOrange addressed these challenges by deploying a fleet of 63 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) powered by their GreyMatter AI-driven orchestration platform. This solution provided autonomous navigation and real-time orchestration of logistics flows, fully integrated with existing systems. The results for Sodimac included zero worker injuries in two years, consistent throughput during the pandemic, and improved productivity, enabling them to process 4,000 pallets daily with plans to increase to 6,000.
