Preview of the Cemento Sol Case Study

Cemento Sol helps 500,000 visually impaired people with Grey's Sightwalks

The customer, Cemento Sol, a Peruvian cement brand, faced the challenge of bringing its purpose of inclusivity to life in a country where the visually impaired are often marginalized. Partnering with advertising agency Grey Group, Cemento Sol sought to develop a solution that would enhance urban accessibility and demonstrate its commitment to national development.

Grey Group developed "Sightwalks," an innovative, open-source tactile paving system that adds a new vocabulary of signs to sidewalks. This low-tech innovation allows visually impaired individuals to independently identify nearby venues by counting tactile lines with their canes. The solution benefited over 500,000 people, covered more than 75,000 m² of area, and successfully positioned Cemento Sol as a brand building inclusive, cement-based solutions.
