A GRESB Case Study
Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK), a major German pension fund, lacked a centralized ESG framework for its extensive real estate portfolio, which was at odds with its ambitious net-zero goals. To identify weaknesses and monitor its progress, the customer sought an internationally accepted tool and turned to the vendor GRESB, using its GRESB Real Estate Assessment & Benchmark service.
By implementing GRESB, BVK developed a dynamic ESG strategy, enabling it to track emissions and identify areas for improvement across its portfolio. The solution facilitated better data integration with its external managers and allowed the firm to reuse the validated GRESB data for regulatory disclosures and climate-risk analysis. This has positioned BVK to conduct stranding asset analyses and work towards making its entire portfolio compliant with the Paris Climate Agreement.
