NAB, one of Australia's largest banks, was undergoing a major technology transformation to improve the resilience and reliability of its services as it moved to the cloud. The challenge was to standardize chaos engineering practices across hundreds of different engineering teams in a secure, compliant manner to proactively identify system failures. They partnered with the vendor Gremlin to find an enterprise-ready chaos engineering solution.

Using Gremlin's platform, NAB's teams were able to easily create and share experiments, run Game Days, and identify unknown system vulnerabilities. This solution led to a 75% reduction in time to resolution for incidents and fostered a widespread culture of reliability. More than 25 teams now use Gremlin, which helped turn theoretical playbooks into practical solutions, such as resolving a production incident in under 30 minutes instead of a potential two hours.
