60-Year-Old Community Practice Expands from OB-GYN to Multi-Specialty with Prime Suite; Becomes a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home

The Veranda, a 60‑year‑old community practice in Albany, GA, evolved from a traditional OB‑GYN group into a multi‑specialty family practice serving pediatrics, family medicine, endocrinology and more. Facing Y2K, a new facility and the need for an integrated EHR/PM that could support multiple specialties, interoperability and patient engagement, the practice sought a technology platform to coordinate care across providers and sites.

The Veranda implemented Greenway’s Prime Suite EHR/PM in 2004 and later added Prime Patient, Greenway Exchange, Prime Research and Greenway Link. The integrated system made the practice paperless, streamlined workflows, enabled easy Meaningful Use attestation, supported clinical research participation and automated patient reminders—helping increase revenue, patient satisfaction and volumes—and helped the practice achieve NCQA Level 3 PCMH certification in 2014.
