Ryder Reduces Risk and Lowers Costs With Greenroad’s Driver Behavior System

Ryder, a global transportation and logistics provider with a roughly 2,000-vehicle fleet and more than 1,000 drivers, needed to reduce risky driving, cut costs and eliminate inefficiencies without alienating drivers. To achieve a proactive, driver-centered safety program that drivers would accept rather than see as punitive, Ryder evaluated and selected GreenRoad Technologies’ Driver Behavior solution.

GreenRoad Technologies deployed its Driver Behavior system (initially piloted at three sites) using sensors that analyze up to 150 event types across five categories and provide immediate in-vehicle feedback, plus customized vehicle safety profiles. The rollout—now in more than 50 Ryder locations—lets managers view performance on every trip, target supervisory ride‑alongs, and intervene earlier, yielding measurable operational scale and improved oversight that reduced risk, lowered costs and made fleet managers’ work more effective.
