Northern Gas Networks, the gas distributor serving 2.7 million homes and businesses across the North of England, needed a way to improve driver safety, track fleet performance, and better manage its 550 commercial vans. The company wanted clearer visibility into driving behaviour, safer operations, and potential fuel savings, and turned to GreenRoad Technologies’ in-cab coaching and telematics system to help address these challenges.

GreenRoad Technologies implemented its “coach in the cab” software to monitor driving events in real time, alert drivers to unsafe habits, and provide reports for drivers and managers to review together. The result was tangible improvements in driver behaviour, live fleet visibility, and a better foundation for performance management, with Northern Gas Networks also targeting up to 10% fuel savings and reduced carbon emissions through smoother, safer driving.
