Hunter-Davisson, a large HVAC/R contracting and service firm in Portland, Oregon, was facing unacceptably high accident rates and insurance costs despite several prior safety initiatives. In 2014 they engaged GreenRoad Technologies and adopted the GreenRoad Edge™ Driver Safety Platform (Edge devices, in-vehicle LED feedback panels and the GreenRoad Drive™ mobile app) to focus on changing driving behavior rather than surveillance.

GreenRoad Technologies installed Edge devices and LED feedback, rolled out the Drive app and KPI dashboards, and ran a company-wide launch and blind trial to drive adoption. The real-time feedback and driver-owned scoring rapidly changed behavior: cost-of-claims fell 71%, number-of-claims dropped 32%, average driver risk score fell from 48 to 26 within a year (remaining steady for six years), and Hunter-Davisson saved well into the six figures on insurance while seeing significantly fewer and less severe collisions.
