Case Study: FirstGroup America achieves 70% fewer risky maneuvers and lower collisions and emissions with GreenRoad Technologies

FirstGroup focuses on environment, safety and passenger comfort

FirstGroup America, a major public-transport operator with a 9,000-vehicle bus fleet, sought to cut CO2 emissions, improve passenger safety and comfort, and reduce operating costs. To meet its target of reducing emissions by 100,000 tons while improving driver behavior and operational efficiency, FirstGroup America selected GreenRoad Technologies and its GreenRoad Driver Behavior solution.

GreenRoad Technologies deployed real-time driver feedback, session scoring and fleet analytics across the fleet, working with managers and drivers (and unions) to drive adoption. The program produced measurable gains: risky maneuvers fell almost 70% (from ~80 to 26 per 10 hours), collisions dropped more than 6%, passenger injuries fell over 8%, and fuel use and emissions declined—putting FirstGroup America on track to meet its environmental target.
