Ecorys is an international research, consultancy and management services firm headquartered in the Netherlands with 700+ staff across nine offices. They were hindered by a nine‑year‑old, static intranet that was department‑driven, hard to search and a one‑way communication tool—making global knowledge sharing and collaboration difficult. Ecorys engaged GreenOrbit to deliver a modern intranet with an Enterprise Social Network to centralize information, enable participation and improve internal communications.

GreenOrbit implemented its intranet with #Channels for topical communities, a searchable Staff Directory, a drag‑and‑drop CMS and rapid deployment services, enabling Ecorys to move communications out of email into categorized feeds, surface experts across countries and let staff self‑publish content. The result was fast, organization‑wide adoption across departments (700+ users), reduced inbox overload, quicker project staffing (a #Channels post surfaced an expert who saved a project and generated profit), on‑time launch and plans to extend the intranet as a portal via GreenOrbit’s API.
