Coast Appliances, a Canadian appliance retailer with 16 stores, 7 warehouses and 400+ staff, struggled with inconsistent HR processes and fragmented communications. Many HR requests were handled by an unmaintainable set of PHP forms and scheduling in Microsoft Exchange caused conflicting edits; they engaged GreenOrbit to provide a central intranet-based HR hub with online forms, document management and shared calendars.

GreenOrbit replaced the legacy forms with its intranet platform, introducing Online Forms for hires and vacation requests, News for company-wide communication, store-specific GreenOrbit calendars, and a central document repository holding an estimated 500–1,000 items. The GreenOrbit solution delivered measurable consistency and productivity gains—simplified onboarding and HR processes for 400+ users, fewer email-driven announcements, elimination of conflicting calendar edits, and a single source of truth for policies and project documentation.
