A Greenfly Case Study
Major League Baseball (MLB) wanted to expand its reach beyond traditional broadcasts and better connect with younger fans on social media. The league also saw an opportunity to help players build their personal brands by making high-quality, game-day content available to them quickly and consistently. To do this, MLB worked with Greenfly and its content distribution platform to support the Player Social program.
Greenfly enabled MLB to route live content creator photos, videos, and custom graphics to players through personalized galleries in the Greenfly mobile app. In the 2019 season alone, over 600,000 media assets were distributed and more than 750 players participated. MLB players using Greenfly posted 24% more content year-over-year, while follower counts increased 48% and fan engagement rose 52%.
