Tieto separates two data rooms by 70m with Green Mountain AS

Tieto, an IT service provider, had been using Green Mountain's colocation services since 2014. Their challenge was to move an additional data room with customer data to a new facility while meeting strict requirements for data locality, high availability with physical separation, and maintaining their ISO27001 certification. They also sought to outsource their data center operations to focus on their core IT services.

Green Mountain provided a solution by delivering a completely separate data room in a different mountain hall at their SVG-Rennesøy facility. This offered physical separation by 70m of rock and an entirely independent infrastructure, creating two highly available data centers at the same site. As a result, Tieto maintained its certification, achieved significant cost savings on power, and could focus on its core services, all while providing a Tier III certified environment that impressed their customers and auditors.
