Self Enhancement, Inc. speeds check-in by 60% with Greater Giving

Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI), a Portland-based non-profit, faced a significant bottleneck during check-in for its major Art + Soul Gala fundraiser. With large groups of up to 60 guests arriving at once due to shuttle schedules, the slow process delayed entry and cut into valuable silent auction bidding time. Their volunteer team also needed a simple, user-friendly solution. Board members recommended vendor Greater Giving and its Auctionpay and Event Software PC products to address these issues.

Greater Giving implemented its Auctionpay terminals and Event Software PC to streamline the check-in and payment processes. This allowed guests to pre-register credit cards at check-in, which drastically reduced settlement time later. The solution sped up guest check-in by up to 60% and reduced check-out time by up to 70%. Critically, it enabled SEI to capture most revenue onsite, slashing post-event collection work. The 2007 gala using this technology raised a record $3 million, making it one of Portland's most successful single-night fundraising events.
