Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) is a 27‑year‑old Portland nonprofit serving more than 2,500 underserved youth annually. Its largest fundraiser, the sold‑out Art + Soul Gala, draws 500+ guests who arrive by shuttle in large waves, creating check‑in bottlenecks that reduced time for silent‑auction bidding and strained volunteer staff who needed a simple, reliable solution.

SEI implemented Greater Giving’s Auctionpay card readers and Event Software PC to speed on‑site registration and payments, with support from Greater Giving’s event consultants. The result: faster check‑in (up to 60%) and checkout (up to 70%), a record $3 million raised in 2007, fewer post‑event receivables and a smoother guest experience—tools SEI now uses at all its major fundraisers.
