JDRF Lincoln and Greater Nebraska, the local chapter of the global type 1 diabetes research organization, relied on an annual gala for a large portion of its budget but faced major operational challenges. The chapter implemented mobile bidding, tablets and mobile card readers, rigorous pre-event communication, and tighter data collection and reporting. They also streamlined check-in/out by pre-bagging winnings and handing out live-auction bid cards at tables.
