Dougy Center - Customer Case Study

Dougy Center provides grief support and services for grieving children, teens, young adults and their families. Their annual Reflection Benefit—an in-person gala that showcases children's artwork to more than 500 guests and historically raised about half of the organization’s operating budget—could not be held as usual during the pandemic, so the team needed to pivot to a virtual format in 2021 without losing engagement or revenue.

Using Greater Giving’s platform, Dougy Center built an event website, opened the online auction a week early, offered raffle tickets and extended donations for a week after the event, and used Text to Donate plus professionally produced videos broadcast on a local FOX channel. The virtual, televised approach expanded reach nationally and internationally, attracted at least 300 household RSVPs (600+ viewers), generated donations from the East Coast, Canada and Asia, replaced lost sponsor dollars with new support, and secured the funds needed to continue their programs while enabling robust donor tracking for future hybrid events.
