Chaminade College Preparatory School, an all-boys Catholic day and resident school in St. Louis, had run benefit auctions since 1974 but had outgrown paper processes and PC-based software. They needed a way to sell tickets and merchandise online, accept year‑round donations, and reliably process credit cards at live events—while coping with awkward on‑campus venues and a cumbersome merchant‑account workflow.
By adopting Greater Giving’s Online Payments in 2007 and moving to mobile bidding (piloted in 2012 and fully on Greater Giving in 2013), Chaminade put ticketing, donations and payments online, eliminated recording errors, and streamlined settlement. The investment paid off: online fundraising surpassed $1M, over 90% of attendees pre‑registered cards, reconciliation time dropped from more than a week to one day, average auction item value rose from $85.19 to $97, and mobile bidding costs fell from $9,000 to $2,700 per year—freeing staff time and boosting net funds for programs.
